Located at the prestigious Governor House in Dubai Marina (one of many locations), 1847 automatically generates the gentleman vibe with their James Bond like entrance. Once arriving at 1847, it will take you a good thirty seconds before realising that the entrance to the gentleman’s lounge is a tiny black bottom in the middle of a large black sliding door. Impressive if I must say.
With my feet hammered from all the loafer wearing and running around, I had booked in a sports pedicure and massage. After being shown to my chair, I was offered a nespresso with house biscuits, before my masseuse Lina introduced herself and what my 45 minutes experience will consist of.
My feet went from being washed, cleaned, scraped and sanitised before the nail clipping begun. After Lina had finished clipping my toe nails, all the excess skin around the nail was removed before brushed with cuticle oil. Both feet were then covered in an exfoliating mask in preparation for the sports massage.
After both feet were rinsed and dried, they were individually dipped into hot paraffin wax three times each before being placed in plastic bags. Once locked into the plastic bags, each foot was placed into its own separate massaging bags before the vibration kicked in for a relaxing 15 minutes. Finally, bags were removed, feet were washed and clean from all the wax, and I was done!
The sports pedicure and massage assists in good bloody circulation and is ideal for the gentleman who always active with sports or are always on the run, travelling on a weekly basis.
