A Weekend at the Waldorf Astoria, Ras Al Khaimah

What’s better than a vacation? A stay-cation! I was invited by the humble Ras Al Khaimah Tourism Development Authority over the weekend to experience the hospitality RAK has to offer, including a night’s stay at the stunningly new Waldorf Astoria.

Arriving at the gorgeous entrance of the hotel, we were greeted by the hospitable staff who took our luggage and escorted us to the concierge, where we checked in to our beach view presidential suite. Our room was incredibly spacious with a walk-in wardrobe, huge bathroom, king-sized bed, small lounge area and a balcony overlooking the resort’s pool and breathtaking sunset. What caught my attention the most, was the Salvatore Ferragamo toiletries on the bathroom basin…standard.

After relaxing for an hour, we were off to the opulent Al Marjan Ramadan Tent where we dined for Iftar & Suhoor in celebration of the holy month of Ramadan. The buffet spread was out of this world. We nearly entered a food coma as a result of all the food we consumed.

To help us digest and escape the summer heat, we hit the amazing pool for a quick swim before calling it a night and hitting the sack.

Friday was all about kicking back and enjoying the Middle Eastern sun. After having a filling breakfast at the hotel’s restaurant, we went straight to the pool and spent a couple of hours bouncing between our beach beds and the cool soothing water.

So next time you feel like switching off from the world, I highly recommend a weekend getaway to Ras Al Khaimah. Other than the resorts, there are dozens of activities you and your family can enjoy.
