Finally visited El Bulli in Surry Hills last night for some amazing Spanish Tapas!
Here’s what we ordered:
Feature photo: Pan con Tomate – Toasted ciabatta rubbed with garlic, tomato & sea salt
Patatas Fritas – Deep fried chat potatoes served with allioli mayonnaise
Setas Rellenas – Stuffed grilled mushrooms filled with pancetta, parsley & manchego cheese
Cordero adobado a la Plancha – Marinated barbecued lamb backstrap fillets
Pinchitos de Pollo – Skewered chicken marinated in chimichurri topped with fresh lemon
Chipirones – Char grilled baby squid in a salt & garlic sauce
Pulpitos a la Plancha – Chargrilled baby octopus dressed with chimichurri
Croquetas de Jamon – Croquettes filled with white sauce & ham rolled in breadcrumbs, lightly fried & topped with allioli
Paella – Traditional rice dish containing seafood, chicken & traces of chorizo
As opposed to ordered the standard entrèe and main, I recommend you just order a dozen mixed entrèe/skewer plates. It’ll provide you with a different range where everyone can share.
For drinks I highly recommend the “red” sangria! Was just as good as the stuff I was drowning myself in last year at Running of the Bulls in Pamplona!
