Located at the Westin Hotel, El Sur Dubai is modern and authentic, artistic and serene, elegant and casual, intimate and happening.
Through its use of fresh ingredients and dynamic recipes, El Sur pushes the boundaries with it’s innovative menu. A mixture between traditional Spanish tapas and a diverse contemporary menu selection, El Sur has stamped itself as one of the most flavoursome restaurants in Dubai.
We were invited to try out the “Spanish Saturday” brunch menu, which started at half past noon.
Here’s how our two our degustation went:
We kicked off our recovery with some light nibblies consisting of El Sur Olives, Potato Crisps & Roasted Corn
Jamón Ibèrico de Guijuelo con pan tumaca | Iberian pork charcuterie selection
If there’s one thing I continuously salivate over, it would have to be thought of devouring a board filled with salami, prosciutto, pepperoni and hams. The look of excitement on our faces when we saw our waiter deliver this board from food-heaven.
Setas y queso | Mushroom & Cheese (V)
Gambas y merluza | Shrimps & Hake
Different, but with the mixture of amazing ingredients, these croquetas were to die for. They simply melt in your mouth.
Gambas al ajillo y guindilla | Garlic & chilli prawns
My prawn expectation bar has been set sky high after trying these amazingly cooked garlic & chilli prawns. So juicy with so much crackling.
Paella de Verduras | Vegetables Paella
It wouldn’t be a Spanish feast without a traditional Paella…an ultimate Paella. A mixture filled with rice, tomato, capsicum, peas, chicken breast and prawns with a shower of lemon juice. You can taste it already can’t you?
Flan de chocolate blanco y salsa de mango
White Chocolate mousse with mango coulis
All in all, our experience at El Sur Dubai was one we will never forget. Possibly one of the most flavour infused brunches I will ever have here in Dubai.
