If you’re after French, Felix Bistro and Bar is the place to go. I absolutely loved this place. Beautiful mosaic pieces covered most of the ceiling setting the, let’s say, Paris scene. Most of the waiters and waitresses are french, so you’ll have no problem breaking down the menu. Oh, and the wine is phenomenal, Felix was voted 2013 Gourmet Traveller Wine List of the Year.
For entrées I ordered the Steak Tartar with condiments (capers, spanish onions and gherkins). If you’re not afraid of chilli, sprinkle some tabasco over the top!
As well as the Mussels Basquaise, chorizo, capsicum and tomato.
Now for the mains! Natalie and J both ordered the Duck confit, cassoulet style white beans, pork belly and garlic sausage. Amazing!
I however, ordered the steak frites, Rangers Valley sirloin cooked medium/rare with herb butter.
As for dessert, the cold chocolate fondant with honeycomb ice cream and the profiteroles with vanilla ice cream and pistachio custard showered with hot chocolate sauce, capped off a great meal!
Wine recommendation:
We ordered the 2011 François Chidaine Vouray ‘Les Argiles’ Loire Valley (Chenin Blanc)
