To celebrate the launch of Australia’s most popular SUV, the Honda CR-V, we were invited by Honda Australia to take part in the ultimate road trip in our very own CR-V. Where are we off to you ask? Well to top it all off, Honda had organised an amazing Scandinavian Design Apartment in Kiama for six of SMF’s friends.
Being in Dubai, I wasn’t able to make the trip. So I thought I would repay my contributors, photographers and web developers with a memorable trip like this for all their hard work in helping me build SMF.
And they were off…
To get the guys through the long drive, Honda Australia provided them with an iPod Nano loaded with 30 songs from Triple J’s Hottest 100, as well as a whole bunch of snacks.
After three hours on the road, the crew finally arrived to the spectacular house overlooking Kiama beach.
Now a bit more about the Honda CR-V!
This CR-V is smarter, sleeker and roomier, as well as more powerful and efficient. It’s always been an overachiever.
Now it’s streets ahead of the competition.
This all-new model is bigger on the inside than any previous CR-V, even though its overall length and height are slightly reduced. Cabin shoulder width is 75mm greater. Three adults (or growing teenagers) will fit even more comfortably in the rear seat.
The CR-V has a low cargo floor that makes loading and unloading a breeze. A retractable tonneau cover, standard in the 4WD models and an optional accessory in the 2WD, keeps everything concealed. Plus, the 60/40 rear seats fold down with the simple pull of a handle, opening up a truly amazing 1648 litres of cargo space.
As beautiful as it is on the outside, the CR-V’s clever features prove that inner beauty is what really counts. These include satellite navigation and smart key entry with push start for the 4WD VTi-L and DTi-L. Plus, across the range, there’s the highly intuitive, full-colour intelligent-Multi Information Display (i-MID, for short), steering wheel controls for audio, Bluetooth® and cruise control. Smart touches that make the CR-V as pleasurable to drive as it is versatile.
