Johnnie Walker Blue Label, MR PORTER, Jude Law, Giancarlo Giannini and a spectacular Italian-made yacht cruising through the British Virgin Islands. Doesn’t sound too bad does it?
The world-renowned whiskey maker, Johnnie Walker, has teamed up with online retailing giants, MR PORTER, to create one of the most envious short films you will ever come across. It is these collaborations that make my day, week, and even month. Nothing but sheer class is displayed throughout the entire six-minute film.
In comes the wager between two fine gentleman, and you know it’s going to be good when you pair a cheeky actor with a smart Italian. So Jude Law insists that he wins the 1928 yacht off Mr. Giannini with a dance.
Here, Mr. Law displays a tale of self-improvement and how any gentleman is willing to go beyond their comfort zone to accomplish something. For him, life itself is all about the quest for a rare experience, where no dollar figure can ever be attached to such practice.
Commenting on his role and involvement in the film, Law says:
“The film is about improvement and progress and this is something I try to do in my work and my everyday life. I had to learn new skills shooting this film and that combined with the places we visited and shot in, alongside working with Jake and with Giancarlo, made it a truly rare experience.”
The film captures the essence of the modern gentleman: audacious, honourable, full of brio. Sit back, enjoy the film, and raise a glass to those who dare.
