Viva Las Vegas!

‘Bright light city gonna set my soul, Gonna set my soul on fire!” Viva Las Vegas!

The adult wonderland, it’s unusually large drinks (that for some reason always end up involving a slushy machine), elaborate themed hotels and buffets that are almost too good to be true. It’s hard to remember when your walking down The Strip that you’re actually in a desert.

Granted, the casino’s are fun. While your gambling away, enjoy a Montecristo cigar (yes, smoking inside the casino is permitted…hallelujah) and as a waitress passes past, ask for your favourite drink and all you’ll have to do is tip her.

But aside from that, I’m going to give you a run down of why I liked Vegas.

Keep in mind that just because the strip is one street, it’s a bloody long one. To walk from one end of the strip to the other takes about an hour and 20 minutes. Your trip down the street is extended due to the fact you’ll want to stop at every single Hotel/Casino you pass by.

My favourite thing to do while in Vegas (apart from the obvious), was what I liked to call, ‘Hotel Hopping’. Whether you want a Gondola Ride in the Venetian, a ride up to the top of the Eiffel Tower in the Paris, or go on a roller coaster on top of the New York, New York Hotel. You’re bombarded with things to see and do, that’ll leave you running around like a headless chicken for hours on end.

Daydream a little and have a quick geez up to the ceilings in the hotels, your most likely going to see something like this:

Yes. If you’ve never been to Vegas, it becomes quite surreal that this is inside a hotel!

A majority of the hotels also have their own department stores and luxury boutiques. The most expensive hotel and shopping district in Vegas is the City Center and Aria Hotel. Here you will find designer stores such as Tom Ford, Versace, Hermés, and Louis Vuitton.

At the Bellagio Hotel you will witness one of the most spectacular and breathtaking water shows in the world. The water is elegantly choreographed to various songs, with each show lasting for approximately 10 to 15 minutes. If you are only in Vegas for a short time, this is definitely a must!
