The London Marriott Hotel Park Lane

Repositioning to be the hotel of choice in Mayfair, London, the London Marriott Hotel Park Lane underwent a complete extensive renovation early last year like no other. Located on the corner of Park Lane and Oxford Street, the hotel epitomises Mayfair elegance, with views over Hyde Park, walking distance from luxury shopping, opulent guestroom accommodation and luxurious public areas befitting of the prestigious address.

Always on my phone.

Always on my phone.

I’ve stayed at a couple of hotels within London in the past, but none offered the level of service I experienced at the London Marriott Hotel Park Lane. It reached a level where I started becoming friends with the majority of the staff while I waited for my mother to wrap up her shopping sprees.

The new layout of rooms include entrance lobbies and are decorated in soft shades of white, dove grey and lavender. Materials such as leather, silk, solid wood and bookmatched marble are used throughout. The incredible guestroom all possess a residential feel, in the form of 152 rooms and suites. Guests in the suites enjoy complimentary access to the Executive Lounge.

Marble. Marble. Marble.

Marble. Marble. Marble.

Only in London for a couple days, we stayed in a lovely Junior Suit overlocking Marble Arch. Upon entering the room, you are presented with a lovely seated area ideal for kicking back after a long day of touring the city. The bathroom was simply incredible. Everything from the walls to the sink basin and floor was marble. Yes, marble…no messing around here! Oh, and to cap it off, the toilet seats are heated!

Impeccable attention to detail of the hotel’s interior are matched with quintessentially British touches. A collection of British artwork features throughout the hotel and Royal Warrant holder suppliers include Floris bathroom amenities.

While scouting the hotel for some cool locations to shoot an amazing Dior trench coat, we cheekily asked the hotel manager to allow us onto the rooftop, where they were renovating the new bar. Bumping into the hotel’s General Manager on the roof, he gave us the heads up that the hotel wanted to take it up a notch (no pun intended) from the previous bar and create an urban type theme. So come this May, Notch (yes, that’s the name of the bar), will welcome guests to delicious cocktails and light bites overlooking one of London’s busiest streets.

Another signature British touch within the hotel is the famous Lanes of London restaurant cafe. The delicious eatery offers a delicious seasonal menu, using locally sourced British rare-breed and wild food produce. Alongside a food menu that delivers great flavours, Lanes of London bar serves great wines, craft beers and excellent cocktails.
