It is behind the walls of the Montblanc Pelletteria on the outskirts of Florence, that ancestral craftsmanship, state of the art technology and enduring design were masterfully brought together to bring to life the Extreme concept. Established since 2006 in the historical centre of the Italian leather trade, a team of highly skilled designers and artisans source the finest skins from the tanneries and transform them into the finest quality leather pieces, adhering to Montblanc‘s promise to continuously break new ground, while ensuring the preservation of century-old traditions such as the stitching and quitting you can e.g. see in the execution of the handle of the Single Gusset Briefcase.
Contrasting with the resistant and repellent outer shell, the inside of a passport holder, business card holder and wallet is lined with a very soft and natural black Italian cowhide carefully selected by the team of craftsmen at the Montblanc Pelletteria. The larger leather goods including a Single Gusset Briefcase, Document Case, Messenger Bag, Rucksack, Tote Bag, Envelope Bag, North South Bag, and Clutch Bag lined are detailed with the same soft and natural leather to highlight the special craftsmanship of this collection, while the large compartments are lined with Neoprene – a modern material also introduced to the fashion industry – giving electronic devices such as laptops, extra protection and cushioning thanks to both its softness and thickness.
With durability being a fundamental attribute of Extreme, a series of tests were conducted during the development of this high performance collection – light fastness, tear strength, heat, wear and abrasion testing. As function and aesthetics come together, it’s time for every modern adventurer to face the extreme elements of the urban outdoors and to embrace these challenges with the help of a true lifelong companion.
