An island, endless sun, crystal clear water, fresh coconuts…where else but the Maldives! This article will take you through some of the outfits I wore during my recent trip to the gorgeous Dusit Thani Maldives resort.
For all summer adventures, you need two things: a pair of killer board shorts and a comfortable linen shirt. Now, multiply each piece by 3-4 so that you’re not caught wearing the same thing every day of your holiday.
Here are a three options to give you an idea:
Here I’m wearing a super light linen shirt with a pair of Orlebar Brown Bulldog “Swimming Around” Bulldog Mid-Length (buy) swim shorts.
Option two could be a dark navy short sleeve linen shirt (buy) with another pair of printed board shorts. I actually personally designed the shorts I am wearing in this shot using the Orlebar Brown #Snapshort application!
As a final option, you could opt for the darker linen shirt, pair of swimmers and SWIMS waterproof loafers.
When you’re not in board shorts and a linen shirt, you’ll need some casual wear to make you look good during the buffet breakfasts or afternoon lunches on the pier.
Staying true to the island vibes, I personally prefer to stay in a pair comfortable shorts and a shirt during the day.
Here I’m wearing an Alexander McQueen Asian inspired shirt with a pair of Ralph Lauren yellow shorts.
As much as we’d all like too, we can’t stay in our board shorts all day. For the perfect evening ensemble, keep it cool but classy. You’re on an island at the end of the day, so use light colours and thin materials.
Here I’m wearing a gorgeous light blue blazer, stripped shirt and tailored white pants all from Eden Park. The shoes, none other than Santoni.
Let’s not forget a gentlemen’s best friend: his timepiece. The great thing about the IWC Portugieser Automatic is it’s wearability for different occasions. It might be a classic timepiece, however, the leather hand gives the piece a slight casual vibe as well.
In come the greatest accessory of all for such a holiday, the hand-stitched canvas Panama hat! In my books, this is a must. The only downside would have to be the fact that you have to wear it the entire trip from start to finish because it is so fragile…but hey, it completes your Maldives outfit 😉
Special thanks to the entire Dusit Thani Maldives team for having me, it was a weekend to remember!
